We’re speeding through November, and early Black Friday deals have begun. An avalanche of Apple discounts are about to start dropping nationwide, if they haven’t already.With Black Friday sales now live at many retailers, I'd normally expect it to be a good time to seek out a deal on an older generation MacBook Pro (when I say older, I mean from 2023, hardly an eon ago).

Apple’s (AAPL) latest MacBook Pro line of laptops is here, and it packs a serious punch for users looking for a portable powerhouse that can handle everything from photo and video editing to gaming and 3D design.

Officially speaking, Black Friday falls on the Friday after Thanksgiving in the US. That means this year, the mammoth Black Friday sale will kick off on Friday 29 November in 2024, and end on Cyber Monday on 2 December 2024.

Amazon already has $125 off the M4 MacBook Pro 14 &ndash; reduced from $1,599 to $1,474. This is the entry-level model from the new range, but it's a notable step up from the entry-level M3 MacBook Pro because it comes with a minimum 16GB RAM instead of 8GB, as well as the new, faster processor. If you do need more power, Amazon also has $200 off the M4 Pro chipped MacBook Pro 16.

The base 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,599, while a fully kitted-out 16-inch model tops out at $7,349. For comparison, a 13-inch MacBook Air with Apple’s older M2 chip starts at $999, while an Air with a newer M3 processor starts at $1,099.

If there’s anything guaranteed to go on sale this Black Friday, it’s Apple’s AirPods &ndash; both the Pro and non-Pro models. Retailers seem to cart out the discounts during big-ticket sales such as Amazon Prime Day (when they plummeted to the lowest price I’ve ever seen earlier this year) and Black Friday. In fact, the AirPods 4 have already been reduced, just two months after launching.

Apple has also boosted the base amount of memory for the standard 14-inch MacBook Pro from 8GB to 16GB, which should improve overall performance if you opt for the standard configuration.

Last year, retailers also discounted products that had only just been launched by Apple two months prior, including the all-new Apple Watch Series 9 and the MacBook Pro M3. In fact, Amazon, Very and others have already discounted the latest Apple Watch Series 10, but as expected, the heftiest discounts have been reserved for older Apple devices from previous years.
