We're fast approaching that time of year again. Love it or hate it, the Victoria's Secret fashion show - a confetti-drenched spectacle comprising push-up bras and diamonte-encrusted underwear debuted on a set of Amazonian-esque models of unparalleled stature - is on the horizon.

The show, which is taking place in Shanghai (a savvy business decision driven by a desire to bring the VS brand to a new region), will be aired on CBS Television Network in the US on Tuesday 28th November, and will witness ''the merging of fashion, fantasy and entertainment, including pink carpet interviews, model profiles, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show.''

And although the musical performers are yet to be announced for this year's show, with Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd having all made an appearance in the past, there's little doubt that the lineup will be star-studded.

Securing a place on the VS roster is one of the most sought after accolades in the modeling world, and one that girls from all over the world will do everything in their power (including twice a day workouts) to attain.

This year, turn out for the casting was as competitive as ever, with 400 girls attending the New York call-backs which were run by casting director John Pfeiffer. All of those in attendance were required to wear the same set of Victoria's Secret underwear to ensure a level playing field as they auditioned in front of a hawk-eyed lineup consisting of Pfeiffer as well as Victoria's Secret's Ed Razek, producer Monica Mitro and super-stylist Sophia Neophitou.
