First launched in China last October, the
Honor Magic 7 Pro is now available globally.The Magic 7 Pro was released alongside the Magic 7 Lite, which offers a newer version of Android compared to its mid-range counterpart.Shortly after the release, Honor also revealed details about software support for its flagship device.
Software Update Plan
Honor has confirmed that the Magic 7 Pro will receive five major Android OS updates, ensuring software support until January 2030. This is an improvement over the Magic 6 Pro, which is set to receive four major updates, from Android 14 to Android 18.
The Magic 7 Pro is expected to be updated through Android 20, with security patches provided throughout this period. While this extends the device’s lifespan, it still falls one version short of Google and Samsung’s latest flagships.
Honor Magic 7 Pro features
The Magic 7 Pro features a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 1280 x 2800 resolution, offering a 1-120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, which goes up to 5,000 nits for HDR content. There’s also high-frequency PWM dimming at 4,320Hz to help reduce eye strain. Under the hood, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and comes with 12GB of RAM, ensuring smooth performance.
The device comes with a 5,270mAh battery and supports 100W wired and wireless charging. The rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary camera with a large 1/1.3-inch sensor, a 200MP periscope zoom lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide angle camera. For selfies, it comes with a 50MP front camera with a 3D face scanning sensor.
The Magic 7 Pro runs Android 15-based MagicOS 9.0, introducing useful features like Magic Portal, AI-powered Honor Notes, real-time AI translation and Gemini AI. It is also dust and water resistant to IP68 and IP69 including hot water jets.
