MSI is updating its Vector line of gaming laptops at CES this year, including its 17-inch model. The Vector 17 HX AI packs the crème de la crème from Intel and Nvidia into a portable package.
The Vector 17 HX AI is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, one of Intel's most powerful Arrow Lake CPUs. Users can choose from either an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (12 GB GDDR7), 5080 (16 GB GDDR7), or 5090 (24 GB GDDR7) GPU, giving the laptop some serious gaming chops. The new Vector 17 HX AI also has two slots for PCIe Gen5 x4 NVMe drives.
Input/output options include two Thunderbolt 5 ports (both with DisplayPort and PD 3.1 support), two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) ports, a single HDMI 2.1 port (with support for either 8K/60 Hz or 4K/120 Hz), an SD card reader, a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet jack, and a 3.5 mm combo audio jack. Wireless connectivity is handled by an Intel Killer BE1750 wireless card, which supports WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The display is a 17-inch QHD+ (2560x1600) IPS panel with a refresh rate of 240 Hz. It fully covers the DCI-P3 color gamut. The laptop comes with Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro.
The Vector 17 HX AI is quite large at 380x298x28.75 mm (14.96x11.73x1.13 inches) and weighs 3 kg (6.6 pounds). It comes with a 4-cell 90 Wh battery, an FHD webcam with IR and a 24-zone RGB keyboard with Windows Copilot keys.
MSI did not reveal pricing at press time.
