The name Pixel was first used by
Google in the Chromebook Pixel launched in 2013. While the Chromebook Pixel line was discontinued in 2017, the Pixel name has been used to describe Google's entire mobile portfolio.
According to rumours, the company will soon launch a new laptop. The laptop will be very imaginatively called the Google Pixel Laptop and its internal codename is said to be Snowy.
Google employees are reportedly comparing it to Apple's MacBook Pro, Dell's XPS line, Microsoft's Surface Laptop, and the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook, so it should be a high-end product, as the build quality of all of these products is aimed at the high-end laptop market.
What's unclear, and perhaps the most important piece of information is whether it will run Google's Chrome OS or Windows. we think it's most likely to be the former, but that will no doubt dampen its mass appeal.
