The previous world record they held was for a sub-30 minute run, clocking in
Elden Ring Runes at 28 minutes and 59 seconds. The run was published on the 14th of March. The time at which they ran that record was their fifth consecutive world record for an "Any percentage" Elden Ring speedrun.
The Leaderboards on Elden Ring on Speedrun.com have been unlocked. While Distortion2's time isn't recorded the sub-20-minute time, it is easily the fastest for any race. It's the same for the Dark Souls-dedicated speedrunning website SpeedSouls.com, with Distortion2's time overtaking all the others. Distortion2 was so determined to this run of less than 20 minutes, they've even mentioned in the description of the video and via Twitter in their Twitter account that they "changed the flight and ran a 15-hour stream" just to try and share this amazing time.
I love watching folks perform incredible feats of gaming. That's the reason I love the sport of esports. However, this Elden Ring speedruns are becoming too to much. I'm struggling to keep up! I'm now anticipating someone to glitch from the beginning to the Limgrave region to the final boss and be able to beat the game in
Elden Ring Runes buy, I don't know, 60 minutes.
