The Motorola Moto G Power (2025) has officially launched in the US as the latest Android 15 smartphone, positioned as a more premium version of its sibling, the Moto G. With a starting price of $299.99, it’s $100 more expensive than the base model but promises several upgrades to justify the price difference. So, does the Moto G Power (2025) live up to its flagship durability claims?
Available now for $299.99 on both Motorola and Amazon, the Moto G Power (2025) offers a 120Hz 6.8-inch FHD+ display powered by the Dimensity 6300 SoC, the same chipset found in its smaller HD+ Moto G counterpart. This makes the Moto G Power (2025) more of a "Pro" version, especially since both devices feature Dolby Atmos stereo speakers and a headphone jack, as well as expandable storage via microSD. Both also have 16MP punch-hole selfie cameras and share the same 50MP main rear camera.
However, the Moto G Power (2025) stands out with a better secondary rear camera, boasting an 8MP ultrawide-angle lens. Additionally, it’s the only one of the two new models with 8GB of RAM. The device also comes with upgraded Gorilla Glass 5 and a robust IP68/IP69 rating for water and dust resistance.
Another notable feature is the MIL-STD-810H military durability certification, which ensures the device meets rigorous standards for toughness. While the Moto G Power (2025) doesn’t receive a battery upgrade compared to the standard Moto G, it still packs a 5,000mAh battery with 30W wired charging, alongside 15W wireless charging—an improvement over the base model.
For buyers seeking durability, performance, and additional features like wireless charging, the Moto G Power (2025) may well justify its $100 premium over the standard Moto G.
