Lava has officially launched the Yuva 4, the successor to the Yuva 3 from earlier this year. As a budget-friendly smartphone, the Yuva 4 packs several impressive features, making it a strong contender for everyday use.
Key Features of the Lava Yuva 4
The Yuva 4 comes equipped with a 6.5-inch HD+ display offering a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, providing fluid scrolling and animations. Powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset, it delivers reliable performance for daily tasks and light gaming.
The device offers 4GB of RAM, with an additional 4GB of virtual RAM to enhance multitasking. Out of the box, it runs Android 14, and it’s also confirmed to receive an upgrade to Android 15, ensuring future-proof software support.
The camera system includes a 50MP primary lens for sharp and detailed photos, alongside an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for quick unlocking and a classic 3.5mm headphone jack for those who prefer wired audio.
With a 5000mAh battery, the Yuva 4 promises all-day usage, though the 10W charging speed is on the slower side.
What's New in the Yuva 4 Compared to the Yuva 3?
While the Yuva 4 shares many features with its predecessor, it comes with several key upgrades, particularly in camera performance and software support.
Performance and Software
The Yuva 4 ships with Android 14, an upgrade from Android 13 on the Yuva 3. It is also guaranteed to receive an upgrade to Android 15, offering longer software support compared to the previous model.
Camera Improvements
The most notable upgrade in the Yuva 4 is its camera system. The 50MP primary sensor is a significant improvement over the 13MP camera on the Yuva 3. Additionally, the Yuva 4 removes the less practical VGA and AI lenses found on its predecessor, opting for a simpler and more effective design. On the front, the selfie camera has been improved from 5MP to 8MP, providing better quality for photos and video calls.
Pricing and Availability
The Lava Yuva 4 will be available in three stylish finishes: White, Purple, and Black. Priced at Rs. 6,999 for the 64GB variant, it offers excellent value for money. The phone will be available in Lava's retail stores starting November 2024 and comes with a 1-year warranty and free home service.
