This is Xiaomi's Smart Band 9, currently on sale in Europe for 40€/£35. It comes in a small box with a proprietary magnetic pin charger that ends in a USB-A port.

The smart band's easily detachable body lends itself nicely to accessories - we received the dual-tone leather strap (normally £18) and the running clip (£8), which lets you attach the band to your sneakers.

Because of a differences in dimensions, the running clip 9 is only compatible with the Smart Band 9.

So what's new on the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 compared to the 8? It's ever so slightly smaller, though you're unlikely to notice a difference. Health tracking accuracy has improved - Xiaomi claims 16% better heart rate and blood oxygen saturation tracking. There's also a reported 7.9% improvement in sleep tracking accuracy.

The new bracelet has a 230mAh battery, which is larger than its predecessor's 190mAh.

Unfortunately, the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 doesn't have GPS, you'll need to wait for the Smart Band 9 Pro with a larger display and GPS to hit the market, or opt for the Smart Band 8 Pro.
