Xiaomi will almost certainly launch the Mix Flip 2 later this year, and the latest leaks suggest that the phone will offer one major upgrade over last year's Mix Flip, as well as almost every other flip-folding phone on the market.

Xiaomi launched the Mix Flip last year as a direct reply to Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip6. The foldable appears to have sold well, with reports now surfacing about the company's plans to bring a successor to the market. According to a new leak, said successor is set to launch with an impressive battery upgrade.

According to Kartikey Singh, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is slated to hit the market this year with a battery capacity of around 5,600 mAh. this will be a major upgrade from the 4,780 mAh battery on the first generation Mix Flip. This is in line with Xiaomi's recent trend of increasing the battery capacity of its new devices, thanks to the higher energy density offered by silicon-carbon battery technology.

The 5600 mAh battery capacity means that the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 will have a larger battery than its competitors. For example, the Galaxy Z Flip6 packs a 4000 mAh battery, and the Z Flip7 is expected to do the same - highlighting the huge advantage that Xiaomi's foldable phone has in this regard.
