Galaxy A16 5G : Samsung stellt günstiges Handy vor(0)

Wenige Tage nach der ersten Ankündigung des Galaxy A16 5G hat Samsung per Pressemeldung den Verkaufsstart in Deutschland angekündigt. Der Nachfolger des Galaxy A15 5G (ca. 200 Euro auf Amazon) kommt hierzulande zu Preisen ab 229 Euro auf den Markt. In dieser Preisklasse ungewöhnlich: Das Mittelklasse-Smartphone soll sechs große Android-Updates sowie sechs Jahre Sicherheits-Patches erhalten.

South Korean electronics maker Samsung has launched the Galaxy A16 5G smartphone in select regions. The budget smartphone is eligible for six generations of operating system upgrades and six years of security updates, according to Samsung Netherlands website where the phone is now available. This is just one generation of support less than what Samsung provides for its flagship Galaxy S24 series and Google's Pixel devices.

With six generations of OS support, the Galaxy A16 5G surpasses other Galaxy A-series smartphones, including the expensive Galaxy A35 and A55 models, which get up to four years of software support. However, Samsung states on its product listing page for the Galaxy A16 that “the OS upgrade and security update policies as described above are subject to change.”

The Galaxy A16 5G sports a 6.7-inch 90Hz Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, the Exynos 1330 processor with 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and support for 1.5TB microSD cards, a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging, 5G connectivity, a 50MP+5MP+2MP (primary, ultrawide, macro) rear camera setup, and a 13MP front camera. It runs Android 14 out of the box, likely with One UI 6.1.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the smartphone’s triple-camera system, which includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. Whether you want to capture wide landscapes or detailed close-ups, this setup has you covered. Plus, the 13MP front camera is ideal for selfies and video calls, ensuring all your photography needs are met.

Das Samsung Galaxy A16 5G ist in Deutschland wahlweise in Blue Black, Light Gray oder Light Green verfügbar, und wird mit 4 GB Arbeitsspeicher und 128 GB Flash-Speicher für 229 Euro angeboten, oder aber mit 8 GB RAM und 256 GB Speicher für 309 Euro.
