Pixel 10: Diese neuen Google-Smartphones kommen(0)

The Google Pixel 9 line arrived just last month, but we’re already hearing about the Google Pixel 10, as codenames for four phones in this series have now leaked.
Android Headlines claims that the Pixel 10 itself is codenamed ‘Frankel’, the Pixel 10 Pro is codenamed ‘Blazer’, the Pixel 10 Pro XL is codenamed 'Mustang’, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is codenamed ‘Rango’.
As far as we can tell, these codenames are references to horses – a mix of breeds and specific racehorses. So, the implication there is perhaps that these phones will be fast, but it’s probably not worth reading too much into the codenames.

Next-Gen Tensor Chip: Google might introduce the TSMC-made Tensor G5 chip with the Pixel 10. This processor could bring significant improvements in performance, battery efficiency, and AI capabilities. Compared to Samsung's 3nm process, TSMC's reportedly delivers 10-20 percent higher performance.
Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor: The latest Pixel phones have an optical fingerprint sensor. We hope Google will improve this next year by adding an ultrasonic sensor to the Pixel 10, like the one used in the Galaxy S24 and other top smartphones. An ultrasonic sensor uses sound waves to create a 3D map of your finger (as opposed to light to make a 2D image), making it faster and more secure than an optical sensor.
Camera Enhancements: Pixels are known for their exceptional cameras, and the Pixel 10 is expected to continue that trend. If the physical cameras themselves aren't upgraded, Android 16 will surely provide some software-based improvements.

Google wird sowohl nach aktuellen Informationen als auch nach der geleakten Roadmap im nächsten Jahr ganze vier Pixel 10-Smartphones auf den Markt bringen. Man hält also an der hohen Schlagzahl fest, die mit der neunten Generation eingeführt wurde: Es wird erneut ein Grundmodell geben, das die Bezeichnung „Pixel 10“ tragen soll. Außerdem ein Pixel 10 Pro als erweitertes Modell, ein Pixel 10 Pro XL als großer Bruder sowie darüber hinaus natürlich auch ein Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Ob man das Foldable zur normalen Smartphone-Linie zählen sollte oder eher doch einzeln behandeln müsste, hat Google mit der seit diesem Jahr gewählten Namensgebung zumindest für sich selbst eindeutig festgelegt. Über ein mögliches Pixel 9a gibt es bisher keine weiteren Informationen – was in der a-Serie aber nicht ganz ungewöhnlich ist, die man deutlich besser unter Verschluss halten kann.
