Cuttack/Bhubaneswar: Rina Rani Sahu, the lone survivor in the wedding gift blast in which her husband Soumyasekhar Sahu and his grandmother were killed, burst into tears after coming face to face with truth after 25 days of the fateful incident.

The death of Soumyasekhar had not been revealed to Rina, who finally read about the tragedy from an old newspaper. After knowing about the truth, she was inconsolable for nearly five hours at the plastic surgery ward of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, informed sources.

On the other hand, Soumyasekhar’s mother and Rina’s father met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today seeking justice for their families. Sources informed that Patnaik assured them to expedite the probe process.

However, both of them have denied of love affair of any sort in the case and said it could have been because of jealously or to seek revenge.

Earlier on February 23, Soumyasekhar of Bholanathpada in Patnagarh of Bolangir district and his grandmother were killed and his wife Rina sustained severe burn injuries in an explosion while unwrapping a parcel sent to them in the form of a marriage gift.

Investigation has already led police to Raipur and Bhawanipatna but the accused is yet to be traced.
