As rumors around the Samsung Galaxy S25 have increased in number, we've started to hear reports of an additional 'Slim' model in the pipeline – and this particular handset could be set for a major camera boost, according to a new leak.
These confirm the ever so slightly rounded corners, as well as a very similar camera arrangement to that of the 2024 model. Overall, this is very easily identifiable from afar as a Samsung thanks to that camera arrangement, and it's also quite obviously an Ultra since, even though it now has rounded corners, they're barely rounded.
The Galaxy Unpacked event is Samsung’s primary venue for announcing new devices, particularly from the Galaxy series, which includes smartphones, tablets, and wearables.
Meanwhile the S25 Slim will apparently have a much more powerful camera. In fact, Ice Universe claims that it will have a stronger camera than the S25. Previously the tipster has said that the S25 Slim will be equipped with an “Ultra camera”.
In the same leak there's a reference to the Vivo X200 Pro mini, which has apparently been something of an inspiration for Samsung. That 6.31-inch Vivo phone is fitted with a big triple-lens 50MP+50MP+50MP rear camera around the back.
These events are held to unveil Samsung’s latest flagship devices, especially new Galaxy S series smartphones, foldable phones like the Z Fold and Z Flip, and sometimes other products like the Galaxy Watch, Buds, and occasionally tablets or laptops.
As our Samsung Galaxy S24 review will tell you, that handset has a triple-lens 50MP+10MP+12MP with 3x optical zoom capabilities. Based on previous rumors, the Galaxy S25 isn't going to be much of an improvement in the camera department.
The Galaxy S25 series is likely to feature rounder corners, with the Ultra potentially having the most significant design changes including a new camera module design for dust resistance. Under the hood, the S25 series is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
The S25 Ultra could introduce a new 50MP ultra-wide sensor, enhancing low-light performance and detail capture. On the software side, the Galaxy S25 series is expected to come with Android 15-based One UI 7. The S25 series will support up to 7 years of software support.
